The boys and I went to South Carolina over the weekend to visit my cousin, Paul, and his family. The drive was long and the visit was short, but it was worth it since we probably won't see them for a long time. My boys played famously with their boys, which is always a sweet thing to see. I took some pictures but considering I came home SICK, I won't be uploading and editing for a while. That's right - I drove home with a low-grade fever that spiked last night. I'm not well and I'm praying Jackson goes with the flow today. I don't plan on moving very much. Perhaps he can reheat his own mac 'n cheese for lunch.

Ground Zero
One of the things I wanted to see the most during our trip to New York City last December was Ground Zero. The only other time I had been to NYC was in March 1998, before 9/11 was more than just another date on the calendar and the World Trade Center was just another couple of skyscrapers.
We weren't the only tourists to visit Ground Zero that day, as it is clearly a place on everyone's Must See list. For seven years now, people from all over the world have visited the scene of a most tragic crime, and even on a cold winter's day in December, it wasn't the wind that sent chills down my spine. The spirit of hope, freedom and rebirth is very much alive at Ground Zero and in the city of New York. I thought it appropriate to post a few pictures and videos from our trip, in honor of today.
